Inspiration post – Element of Fire

Fire is always an element I struggle to work with. I’ve noticed during spell work and rituals that no matter how hard I try, I cannot get anything to burn or stay alight.

Even my friends have commented on it.

So, as such, I also find bringing any sort of fire element into my writing difficult.

I love the sun and hot days but I’m not a sun-bather.  I prefer cooler days where it’s not beating down on me.

I adore sunsets, more than sun-rises.  Just the colours that they bring to the skies is something I can’t stop looking at.

I love sitting round an outside fire watching the flames and listening to the crackles of the wood.

But that is where my love of the fire element really stops. I cannot feel it in any way.

I don’t have any affinity with any Gods or Goddess related to the fire element

I’m going to write about how you could incorporate fire into your work if you have a strong feeling for it. It is still such an important part of emotions.

Fiery, anger, wrath, jealousy, passion are all words I would associate with fire.

The elementals of fire are Salamanders.

It is represented by the sign Leo.

Within Tarot, fire symbolizes conversion or passion.  Everything that touches fire is changed, often beyond recognition.

Fire has mixed symbolism because it represents energy, which as we know can be helpful when controlled but extremely volatile when left unchecked.

I know that I need to keep persevering with the element of fire as it has a power for forging will and determination.

It’s our inner light and a living symbol of the divine in our soul.

I think that is why I struggle, because for a long time, my inner light was lost and depression and anxiety took away my will and passion.

I’m fighting to re-find it and it’s coming back slowly.

When I dance, I can feel the ‘inner fire’ inside me, but it doesn’t take long for that flame to burn down.

Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher has been known to say that the eternal soul’s quest is eventually to become pure fire. In modern standards, we can term that as ‘Enlightenment’.

We need to have personal drive, intention and desire.  Again, all of these have been lost to me over the last few years. I just tried to ignore it and act like I was okay. Partly why I started writing – I needed to get out my feelings of being powerless and low self-esteem and to acknowledge them.

Magically speaking, fire comes under the rule of Venus – the planet of passions.  With spell casting and ritual, fire energies apply to anything associated with personal power, ingenuity and manifesting will.  It can represent bravery, beginnings and drive.

I encourage you to find your fire. Find your strength, your passions for your inner drive and your soul.
