I find inspiration through the elements.
Our thoughts and emotions can strongly be linked by the elements.
Being a Libra, I am an Air sign and this element is very strong for me.
Air signs have strong emotions and love to talk or tell stories – which I do through my poetry.
Air can be thought of in so many ways with writing.
It can be as simple as the air that we breathe, the wind, feeling somebody’s breath on our skin. The sensations to our bodies when we feel the air upon us.
Then there’s the wings of a bird taking flight, the feathers floating to the ground.
Morning mists and clouds.
The elementals of air known as Sylphs.
Our first breath when we are born and our last when we die.
Air can be tempestuous, still, gentle, so many descriptive words which can all be used to describe our emotions.
The element of Air is connected to the mind, wisdom and spirit. It is a force that is a part of everything and is everywhere yet cannot be seen. It reminds us to grow and change as the world does and that there is more to this world than we see.
As long as there is breath and thought then there will be the element of Air. Air carries messages. Just listen to the wind and pay attention to which direction it is coming from.
So, when you think about Air, think about how it moves you. How does it move the plants, leaves and clouds? How do you feel with each of these movements?
Does the Air have a smell to you which ignites feelings in you, such as old, damp, perfume scented, a familiar smell that brings back memories?
Think about sounds and vibrations that are carried in the Air and how they resonate with you, such as music in the distance from a concert, or a thunderstorm rolling over.
The element of Air can be explored in so many ways, and I invite you to be creative and step into this element.
